As part of the $2.02 for 202 Employee Giving Campaign for the Plainfield School District Foundation for Excellence, Superintendent John Harper promised to do someone's job for the day if they contributed to the campaign.

In a random drawing, Grand Prairie Elementary SchooSuperintendent works with studentl Teacher Bev Kariotakis was selected. Dr. Harper taught her class for the day while she volunteered in her daughter's classroom at Walker's Grove Elementary School.

This year alone, the Foundation has supported teacher-driven initiatives with $32,000 in Campus Grants and 13,700 in Mini Grants for classrooms. It has also provided $13,000 in Community Service Scholarships for graduating seniors at Plainfield High School Central Campus, Plainfield South High School, and Plainfield Academy.

As the community continues to grow, the needs of our school district grow as well. Continued support of the Foundation will assist us in providing funding so teachers' innovative ideas can help our students learn.
