                               Course Description

A modular-style laboratory that will enable students, working in teams, to explore several technological content areas.  The technologies covered are communication, digital manufacturing, intelligent systems, and multimedia.  The instruction will be delivered via interactive computer programs.  Activities are included to reinforce each workstation’s subject matter.

  • In the Pathways systems, the suit refers to the curriculum topic as well as the phisical arrangement of the student stations.
  • Harbor is a term used to identify the individual stations within a suit where six students are seated together.
  • Each harbor rotation is three weeks long.
  • Each suit rotation is nine weeks long.

                                Class Rules

      1.  No gum, candy, food, or drinks are allowed in the computer lab.  If such items are found,
     then the student will be penatalized 10% of their current harbor grade.

2.  Take care of the equipment, including the computers and other equipment that goes
     along with each harbor.


3.     
Do not ask to use the washroom before the bell rings or at the beginning of class; allow
      me to take attendance.

      4.      You must be in your assigned attendance seat when the bell rings or you are tardy.  Do
      not visit your suit or harbor before class or leave anything at it.

5.   I will continually walk around the class to check on your progress; do not leave your
      suit to ask me a question.  Never leave your suit for any reason without my
      permission.

6.     
No book bags or jackets may be at your harbor.  Leave all of your belongings
      underneath your assigned attendance seat. 
 
7.     
Work quietly.  Do not be disruptive to your classmates.  Do not talk to students outside
      of your suit.

8.     
Respect your class mates.  You will work in different groups throughout the year, so it is
      imperative that you keep a good working relationship with all of your classmates. 

9.     
You need to have a folder for this class.  All of your work must be turned in at the end of
      each harbor rotation.

     10.  Clean up your harbor and suit before you return to your assigned attendance seat. 

     11.  Notify me immediatly if anything in your harbor or suit is missing or damaged.
