Professional Development

Professional development  in District 202 encompasses many types of learning opportunities for staff.  Including:

  • New teacher Induction for teachers in their first, second and third year of teaching.
  • Activities that are relevant, interactive and apply learning through modeling and practice.


For questions pertaining to advancement on the pay scale, obtaining advanced certificates, or Professional Growth hours that are not part of the induction program, contact the District 202 Administration and Personnel Department (Human Resource) at (815) 577-4058.

For requirements needed to move from an initial to standard certificate, contact the Will County Regional Office of Education or Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

 

Professional Development Opportunities:

Free workshop activities.  Seats are limited to the first 25 staff.  


6-12 Science Academy
6th grade through 12th grade Science Teachers have the opportunity to attend a FREE Science Academy hosted by District 202. The 2016-17 Science Academy will be hosted at Ira Jones Middle School. Teachers have the opportunity to sign up online for this professional development opportunity. There is no cost to District 202 teachers and you may earn up to 1.25 hours of CPDUs per session..  Click here to see the complete program.  Click to here to register.

 

Office 365
Learn Office 365 basic skills.  Learn how to create documents, share documents, and save documents that staff and students can access from home. Click here to register.

 

Classroom Collaboration, Recipe for Success
This training is interactive using strategies connected to Danileson Domain 3.  Ideas will be given and generated through discussion and active participation.  Click here to register.
