Early Childhood (Ages 3-5)

District 202 provides an integrated early childhood program at the Bonnie McBeth Early Learning Center. A multidisciplinary team approach toward learning is utilized in working with students with disabilities and non-disabled students age 3-5 years. Resource Programs

There are resource level programs offered in all elementary, middle and high schools in District 202. This program offers learners with many types of disabilities support within the learning environment less than 60% of their day. Please contact your assigned school for additional information.

Catalyst

The Catalyst program is designed to empower students to develop emotional and social learning skills that can help reduce risk factors that have resulted in appropriate and/or disruptive misconduct. The Catalyst program will help students develop positive life skills that encourage accountability and enables them to modify behavior and demonstrate ability to control conduct within norms of pro-social behavior. The Catalyst program coordinates home, school, and community resources to help students manage behaviors that put them at risk for academic failure. The program applies multiple intervention strategies to help empower the student to successfully integrate into the general school environment.

Instructional ED Programs

The Emotional/Disorder Classrooms in district are highly structured, behaviorally focused learning environments. These program are designed as Primary (Grades K-3) , Intermediate (Grades 4-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12) level programs. These programs are housed on-site at schools throughout the district.

Multi-Needs/Functional Skills Programs

The multi-needs programs in district are specialized programs supporting students with low-incidence disabilities. These programs are designed as Elementary (Grades K-5), Middle School (Grade 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12). These programs utilize use of community resources and functional skills curriculum to address the needs of students.

ED Resource (High School)

This program supports learners in high school level who require minimal behavioral support. Students have an opportunity to meet with behavioral specialists to problem solve and prepare for challenging situations that arise both within and outside the school environment. Behavioral specialist/ teachers advocate for students enrolled and work with regular education teachers to ensure student success.

Alternative School

District 202 provides an alternative Middle School and High School program at Plainfield Academy that serves both regular education students and special education students
