All students are strongly encouraged to take private music lessons!!! Taking private lessons with an expert on your instrument is one of the best ways to improve as a performer and is vitally important to a student's growth and development as a fine musician.

In the PSHS music classroom, instruction is concentrated on the fundamentals of music and on learning to perform within a large group setting. While we do address individual needs, there simply is no substitute for one-on-one instruction with a professional on the instrument which you play. Private lessons address many instrument-specific concepts and help students improve while working with an expert on that instrument.

Students: If you are interested in taking lessons at school during your band period or study hall, please let a band director know. Teachers usually need 3-4 students per day to make the trip to South, and we must know that you are interested before we can contact a teacher!
