Jazz Band

The PSHS Jazz Band is a voluntary ensemble open to all students at PSHS. Auditions are in October and rehearsals begin in early November.

The Jazz Band is directed by Mr. Cook and rehearses every Wednesday evening from 5-7pm. In addition, each section has a weekly one-hour sectional. The exact time of that sectional is determined by the members of the section and Mr. Cook.

In addition to traveling to regional jazz festivals, the Jazz Band performs at the Collage and February Band concerts and the PSHS Jazz Cafe concert in May. Performances may also be set up for an elementary/middle school "tour" and other performance venues as well as a competitive jazz festival.

Students must provide a white collared shirt, black pants and shoes for their uniform. The Jazz Band will do a fundraiser each year. By joining the Jazz Band, students agree to participate in the fundraiser.
