D. 202 delays returning more students to in-person learning

8:25 p.m.

District 202 Education Partners,

District 202 will continue its "adaptive pause" indefinitely and NOT return more students to in-person learning until further notice, because of significant increases in Covid-19 in our area.

As well, the district will not allow students to play basketball this fall.

Finally, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lane Abrell said District officials are concerned about the continued attendance of the multi-needs special education students in light of the COVID-19 related numbers increases. These students were the first group to return to in-person learning on October 26, 2020.

Dr. Abrell encouraged parents of these students to make contingency plans for the possibility of their students returning to remote learning.

The press release linked above includes a power point with Covid-19 data for our area from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

We are obviously not happy to share this kind of news, so we doubly thank you for your support and understanding.
