Week in Review

These District 202 social media posts got the most attention and feedback this week:
facebook image from facebook Ridge Elementary School 4th grade teacher Jennifer Lewis will serve next year as the first-ever assistant principal of Wallin Oaks, the district’s newest elementary school. The District 202 Board of Education approved Lewis’ appointment at its March 22, 2021 regular meeting. Lewis started her education career in 2006 teaching fourth grade at Ridge. She has also served as Ridge’s Title 1 After School Program Lead Administrator in both 2012 and 2014. Wallin Oaks will be the 18th full-service District 202 elementary school. It is scheduled to open in August 2021. The new school is being built as part of a larger plan to create enough space district-wide to provide full-day kindergarten for all eligible students. The new school will also help District 202 minimize the need to move certain special education programs every year among buildings because of limited space. #202proud
