One hundred forty-eight Plainfield South, North and East high school students earned national honors for their excellent performance on the 2019 National Spanish Examination for the Chicagoland region.
Among the 148, PSHS sophomore Hannah Faragoi earned a $100 scholarship for scoring 99 percent on the exam.
Students in Spanish 2, 3, and 4 honors classes were among more than 150,000 students nationwide who took the test during the 2018-2019 school year.
The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese sponsors the National Spanish Examinations. Sixth through twelfth-grade students can take the test.
These students earned a Gold Medal for scoring in the 95th to 100th percentiles:
