A child MUST be age 5 on or before September 1st to register for Kindergarten per Illinois school code.
Starting the 2021-2022 school year , the District 202 kindergarten program will be full day. The full day program will include reading, writing, math, science, social studies, oral language, intervention support, and explore extensions. Explore extension time will include literacy, math, fine motor skills, and play based activities that support social and emotional learning. In addition, the full day program will include art, music or PE every day.
For parents interested in a half day program, please note that the half day program is a reduced schedule and will include instruction in reading, writing, and math. The half day program will be located at Wallin Oaks. Students living more than 1.5 miles away are eligible for bus service. This placement will be for kindergarten only and students will then return to their home school. Parents should contact the office at Wallin Oaks, 815-577-5700, to register their child for the half day program.
