Sam "Trump" Harris visited eighth grade English language arts students at John F. Kennedy School to talk about music and how it intertwines with writing. Harris is a trumpeter and singer/songwriter from Houston, TX, and has been a student of music for over 20 years. Now residing in Chicago, he is currently touring full-time with live HipHop/Jazz/Soul band, Sidewalk Chalk, and spends most of his downtime promoting his solo work. #202proud

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School third graders in Heather Terman's class created life-size paper versions of famous historical figures who fought for civil rights or a cause. Students read books about, for example, Thurgood Marshall and Eleanor Roosevelt. They found facts about the person that showed that they exhibited the traits of courage, honesty, caring, respect or responsibility. Students used those facts to write a short biography on each person. Visit http://www.psd202.org/album/32/2003 for more photos. #202proud
