MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT 202

Hello Education Partners!

Hope you have had a good week.

Here is today’s District 202 news and information:


TEACHER CONTRACT UPDATE

  • The Board of Education negotiating team and Association of Plainfield Teachers (APT) leadership met for several hours on Thursday, October 19, 2017 with the federal mediator. 

The tone and content of the conversations were professional and progress continues to be made toward an agreement. Another session is scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Updates will be provided as appropriate.


  • The Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the District 202 Administrative Center, 15723 Howard Street, Plainfield. Public session starts at 7:30 p.m.
  • The Plainfield Band Boosters organization will host its 20th annual fall craft show on October 28 and 29, 2017 at Plainfield High School – Central Campus, 24120 West Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield. All proceeds from the craft show will support the band programs at Plainfield High School-Central Campus, and Plainfield East, North and South high schools.

  • Four PNHS student athletes are competing this weekend at the state girls tennis tournament:
  • 1st Singles – senior Gabrielle Ochalik
  • 2nd Singles – freshman Grace Chadick
  • 1st Doubles – senior Sarah Trusk and junior Shreya Sharma
  • PSHS senior Natalie Sipes will perform in the 2018 Illinois High School Theatre Festival All-State production of “Big Fish.” The show will be performed January 12-13, 2018 at Illinois State University. About 350 students statewide auditioned for the show, and 109 from 57 high schools were chosen.
  • PHSCC graduate Kathleen Antos, a sophomore nursing major at Southern Illinois University, was one of 12 students chosen to take part in the Noyce Summer Scholar Program. Noyce scholars earn $2,500 grants to work with students over the summer and teach them about STEM-related fields.

The District 202 Community Relations Department is traveling around the district taking pictures. Check out what our students have been up to!
