District 202 Education Partners, hello…

Here is this week’s District 202 news and information: 


SPECIAL NEWS
  • District 202 extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of Plainfield North High School physical education teacher Sue Cunningham (nee Triplett), and Dr. James Waldorf, former Principal at both Plainfield High School and St. Mary Immaculate School, and Plainfield Mayor, who both passed away this week.
  • Visitation for Mrs. Cunningham will be from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, October 24th at Community Christian Church, 1635 Emerson Lane, Naperville. A formal service will follow from 6-7 p.m.
  • Visitation for Dr. Waldorf will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 25th at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 S. Joliet Road, Plainfield, in Plainfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 26th at St. Mary Immaculate Parish.

THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • The District 202 Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the District 202 Administrative Center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield. The public session starts at 7:30 p.m.
  • Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 2nd and Tuesday, November 3rd. Schools will be in session on November 2nd for a half-day, however kindergarten students and Bonnie McBeth students will not attend school. There will be no school for all students on November 3rd.
  • The “Village of Screamfield” haunted house, proudly presented by the Plainfield Foundation for Excellence, continues this weekend at the Plainfield Police Department. Proceeds benefit District 202 students, staff, family and community. The "Village" has "scares" for both older adolescents and adults, and for younger children, too.
  • Plainfield Township will host its sixth annual College and Financial Aid Expo from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at PHSCC.
  • The Plainfield Band Boosters will hold its 18th annual fall Craft Show next Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st. Proceeds benefit all four District 202 high school band programs.
  • District 202 will host an IEP and 504 College Night for special education students and their families on Wednesday, November 4th
