Education Partners, hello.

Hope you’ve had a good week. Here is this week’s District 202 news and information heading into the Columbus Day weekend: 



  • The Board of Education will meet in regular session on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Drauden Point Middle School, 1911 Drauden Road, Plainfield. The public session will start at 7:30 p.m.
  • The Jon Balke Student Art Gallery is featuring works this month from Lakewood Falls, Freedom, Wesmere, Charles Reed and Ridge elementary schools; and Indian Trail Middle School. Check it out the next time you’re at the district administrative center.

  • Ridge Elementary School students and staff have raised over $6,800 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through various events and activities over the last two weeks.
  • District 202 families and staff helped to donate nearly 7,000 pounds of food as part of the Northern Illinois Food Bank’s “Hunger Action Month” event in September. The donations will be split between the Plainfield Interfaith Food Pantry and the St. John Lutheran Food Pantry.
  • John F. Kennedy Middle School raised $55,921.43 for the St. Jude Children’s hospital through the St. Jude Math-a-Thon – the third highest total nationwide. JFK has raise nearly $328,000 for St. Jude since the school opened in 2007.
