More than 1,000 students auditioned for the prestigious regional event. They will participate in day-long rehearsals and perform at the ILMEA Junior Band, Chorus and Orchestra Festival at Huntley High School. ***This item ran last week with the wrong competition date. We apologize for the error and confusion.

  • Thomas Jefferson Elementary School students in Amy Michalisko’s second grade class donated to the Care Bags Foundation. The students made a flannel tie blanket, donated toys and personal hygiene items and wrote letters to children affected by Hurricane Harvey.
  • Thomas Jefferson Elementary School students in Bethany Short’s fifth grade class donated toys, personal hygiene items and other needed supplies to a first grade class at Humble Elementary School in Humble, Texas. The student also created Halloween themed cards for the students. Hurricane Harvey damaged the school and forced the cancellation of classes in September.

THANK YOU

…for your continued support of our students, staff and schools.

Please take a minute to recognize and honor all of our military veterans on Veterans Day tomorrow and help our students understand the significance of military service.

Many of our schools held special Veterans Day ceremonies and programs today. We will publish those pictures next week.

Have a good weekend.
