MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT 202

Education Partners, hello.

Here is the “Pre-Thanksgiving Week” edition of District 202 news and information: 


Over 20 Illinois colleges and universities, as well as numerous financial organizations will be on hand at the Plainfield Township Youth Committee's eighth annual College and Financial Aid Expo.

This free event will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 21st in the cafeteria at Plainfield High School—Central Campus, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield.


  • The Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the district administrative center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield. The public session will start at 7:30 p.m.
  • Parent-teacher conferences will be held Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22. ***Students will not attend school either day. All facilities are closed November 23-25 for Thanksgiving.
  • District 202 is once again giving the state “5 Essentials” survey through January 16, 2017. The 5 Essentials lets parents, students and staff reflect on their school’s academic and work climate.
  • The Village Preservation Association of Plainfield will host a “Historic Plainfield House Walk” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2016 to help maintain the 1847 historic school house located adjacent to the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center.

  • The Plainfield North High School football team will play in the semi-finals of the state playoffs at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) against Fenwick High School at Triton College in River Grove. ***This is the first time a District 202 football team will play in the state semi-finals.

The game will be the featured contest on WJOL radio (1340 AM) and CN100 Sports cable television. Visit cn100.tv/game_of_the_week.aspx for details.

  • These members of the District 202 Swimming Co-op will compete in the state girls swim meet this weekend:

o   Shaw Barney (senior), Kate Meunier (junior), Samantha Kershner (freshman) and Veronica Banas (sophomore) – 200 yard medley relay

o   Jessica Davis (freshman), Shaw Barney, Veronica Banas and Kali Franckowiack (freshman) – 200 yard freestyle relay

o   Jessica Davis, Samantha Kershner, Kali Franckowiack, Kate Meunier – 400 yard freestyle relay

o   Kate Meunier -- 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke

o   Jessica Davis -- 200 individual freestyle

*All of these student-athletes attend Plainfield North High School except Veronica Banas, who attends Plainfield South High School.
