MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT 202

District 202 Education Partners, hello. Here is this week’s helping of news and information.

SPECIAL NEWS
  • The results of the first PARCC test given last spring are now posted online. District 202 scores are higher than the state averages overall and at each grade level except for high school.

The scores are not what we’re used to seeing under the old state standardized testing system. However, it's important to remember that this is a new test, measuring new standards that are significantly more challenging. We fully expect our scores will improve with time.

THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • The District 202 Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the district administrative office, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield. The public session will start at 7:30 p.m.

Please Note: the Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2015 tax levy at 6:30 p.m. as required by law.

  • Information about the full-day kindergarten initiative, including a video of the public forum, is posted on the web sites for all 17 elementary schools, the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center and District 202.
  • The Plainfield Art League is hosting its annual “Best of the Best” exhibit through January 6, 2016 in the Jon Balke Student Art Gallery at the District 202 Administrative Center. The exhibit features works from District 202-area student and adult artists.
