MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT 202

Hello Education Partners!

Hope you have had a good week. Here is today’s District 202 news and information:


  • The Board of Education will hear information about the proposal to change attendance zones for about 280 elementary students in eight schools at its regular meeting on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the District 202 Administrative Center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield.

The meeting is open to the public. The public portion of the meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.

***No action is expected at this meeting***

  • The Board of Education will also hold two public hearings as required by law at 6:30 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 on the:
    • Proposed 2017 tax levy
    • Elementary Physical Education waiver to allow District 202 to continue to offer PE two days a week instead of five, with appropriate supplemental instruction.

  • The Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the District 202 Administrative Center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield.
  • The Jon Balke Student Art Gallery is proud to host the Plainfield Art League’s annual “Best of the Best” exhibit. This special show features works from Art League members and District 202 high school student artists.

  • The Spectrum Youth Singers – featuring numerous District 202 elementary and middle school students -- will perform at 7 p.m. tomorrow, December 16, 2017, with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra in its Holiday Pops Concert in the Ozinga Chapel at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights. 
  • PHSCC graduates Jessica (Saraga) Walsh and her husband, Brendan Walsh (both Class of 2001) won a Chicago/Midwest Emmy for their documentary, "Making Waves: Battle for the Great Lakes." 
  • PSHS graduate Sam Grzelak (Class of 2013) was scheduled to deliver the commencement address to more than 400 fellow Roosevelt University graduates on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the University’s Auditorium Theatre in Chicago.
