Education Partners, hello.

Here is this week’s District 202 news and information: 


***The online lottery is completely random. It will be conducted on February 9th to choose the 408 students eligible for enrollment (24 students at each of the 17 elementary schools.)

 


  • The deadline to register for the 2017 Great Read Harry Potter Team Trivia Contest is midnight, Monday January 30, 2017. The contest will be held on February 2, 2017 as part of the Great Read community literacy program’s Opening Gala, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter book with a month of special programs in February.
  • Please complete the 5 Essentials Survey about your school by January 30, 2017. This important survey helps us assess and improve our schools.
  • Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lane Abrell will host the third Community Coffee with the Superintendent from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the District Administrative Center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield. 

  • The District 202 Board of Education is seeking nominees for its 25th Annual Awards of Excellence.

The award honors teachers and non-administrative staff whose work on behalf of students, and support of District 202 has been exceptional in some way.

This award honors a school-level student service worker who exhibits extraordinary dedication to students.

Parents, community members, students and district staff may nominate staff for either/both of these awards.

Online nomination forms are posted on the front page of the District 202 web site and all school web sites.

Presidents’ Day

  • The Plainfield High School – Central Campus Competitive Dance Team will compete at state this weekend in Bloomington.
  • Plainfield North High School senior Jack Baggs will compete this weekend at the state boys bowling tournament in O’Fallon.
  • The University of St. Francis will highlight Dr. Christian Rivara’s research on teacher evaluation in a new monthly publication, “Research You Can Use.” Dr. Rivara is Indian Trail Middle School’s principal and Acting Principal this semester at Aux Sable Middle School.
