Hello, Education Partners!

Welcome to 2019!

As Winter Break winds down, here is this week’s selection of District 202 news and information:

 

This Week's Highlights

SPECIAL MESSAGES:

  • Plainfield North and South high school students can get free heart screenings in January and February 2019. (PHSCC and PEHS students will be able to get the same screenings next school year.)

***Parents, guardians and community member volunteers are also needed to help screen students***

  • The Board of Education this week approved a new/amended 2019-20 calendar to reflect a change in state law regarding the minimum number of instructional days in the school year.

REGULAR INFORMATION

  • The District 202 community is invited to the Plainfield Art League’s Winter Reception at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 as part of its “Best of the Best” exhibit.
  • Check out the new “New to D. 202” page on the District 202 website. We’ve gathered essential information in one place to help new District 202 families transition smoothly and successfully to school.
  • Teams of up to five people can register now to compete in a Wizard of Oz Trivia Contest at the Opening Event on January 31, 2019
  • Finally, the whole family is invited to watch the 1939 classic movie, “The Wizard of Oz” starring Judy Garland at the Closing Event on February 28, 2019.

facebook We are #202proud of Liberty Elementary School for donating toys to Bobby's Wish a charity organized by fifth grader Bobby Thiesen.

The school also raised money for the charity by selling T-shirts, pencils and donating a $1 to wear a hat to school.
