Fourth graders are learning how to crochet thanks to a new club started by student Reid Roberts and sponsored by fourth grade teacher Lynette Dattomo. The club has been meeting weekly since the end of January.

This Week's Highlights

SPECIAL MESSAGES:

  • Here is the UPDATED 2018-19 calendar, including the five “Emergency Days” that have been used. The last day of school is now June 5, 2019.
  • “The Screen Zombie” social media safety program hosted by Plainfield Parent Community Network has been rescheduled and will now be presented on February 27th.
  • Plainfield South high school students can get free heart screenings in February 2019. (PHSCC and PEHS students will be able to get the same screenings next school year.)

***Parents, guardians and community member volunteers are also needed to help screen students***

REGULAR INFORMATION

  • The Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Central Elementary School, 23723 Getson Drive, Plainfield. Here is the agenda.
  • It’s Awards Season in District 202. Please consider nominating a favorite teacher, support staff member or administrator for:
  • The CAPE organization will host a public forum for the four candidates for the Board of Education at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
  • The Jon W. Balke Student Art Gallery is proud to feature art from Eagle Pointe, Freedom, Meadow View and Walker’s Grove elementary schools; Timber Ridge Middle School and Plainfield North High School this month. Stop by and check out our amazing students’ artistic talent.

  • The Plainfield High School – Central Campus Chess team is competing at state this weekend.
  • Eighty-two student musicians from all four District 202 high schools will perform at the Southwest Prairie Conference Honor Band Festival

facebook Plainfield South High School senior wrestler Andrew Bejarano shared his Senior Night with his SCORE buddy Brian Owens on January 17, 2019.

The two wrestled in the school's auditorium in front of teammates, family and friends to rousing cheers.
