MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT 202

Education Partners, hello.

This was another very busy week in District 202. Here is this week’s selection of news and information: 


  • A podcast of last night’s Plainfield Parent Community Network presentation about bullying and mental health will be posted soon on the media page of the PPCN web site.
  • Once again, District 202 students in fifth through ninth grades will be able to take Chinese Immersion classes this summer.
  • The Board of Education approved some slight changes to the 2017-18 school calendar. The updated calendar is posted on the District 202 web site.

  • Heritage Grove Middle School 7th grader Kevin Fan won the Will County Regional Spelling Bee and will compete in the National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. in May.
  • Liberty Elementary School 5th grader Mia Graske is one of five winners in the 2017 Illinois Reads initiative’s “I Love to Read” essay contest. Students in grades 1-12 wrote essays for the statewide program that promotes reading for Illinois citizens.
