Here is this week’s serving of District 202 news and information…



  • The District 202 Board of Education will meet in regular session Monday, April 11, 2016 at Freedom Elementary School, 11600 Heritage Meadows Drive, Plainfield. 

***Please note: the Board will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on the proposal to shift 2016-17 Crystal Lawns Elementary kindergarteners to Grand Prairie Elementary. The Board will then go into its first closed session as usual, and the public session will start at 7:30 p.m.

  • Once again this year, District 202 is proud to host the StarTalking Chinese immersion classes in June at Plainfield North High School. Register now.
  • The 2016 Great Read community literacy program continues celebrating all things “Made in Illinois” through May. Check out the Great Read web site for many activities and events at our 10 partner libraries.

  • Drauden Point Middle School 8th grader Andrew Springer was recently named a 2016 Pop Warner First Team All-American Senior Scholar based on his academic achievement. 
  • PHSCC students and staff recently raised and donated $1,568 to the Immune Deficiency Foundation.
  • The PNHS Wind Ensemble qualified for the Illinois SuperState Concert Band Festival for the fourth straight year. This is the highest honor in the state for school concert bands. The Wind Ensemble will perform on May 7, 2016 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
  • The Plainfield High School Hockey Association earned an on-ice VIP experience with the Chicago Wolves hockey team on April 1, 2016 in honor of their exemplary community service, teamwork, on-ice play, sportsmanship, and academic achievement. 
  • The Heritage Grove Middle School Lady Huskies 7th and 8th grade basketball teams won the Paw Pac Conference title for the second straight year.
