  • The Plainfield North and Plainfield East high school math teams will compete at state this weekend at the University of Illinois.
  • These Plainfield South High School Mathletes will compete individually at state this weekend: Mat Gray and Amaan Khan (Geometry); Kennedy Branch (Algebra II); Erik Radakovich (Pre-Calculus); Riley Mulcahy and Marie Lockowitz (Oral Competition)
  • These Plainfield High School – Central Campus Mathletes will compete individually at state this weekend at the University of Illinois: Jack Irwin (Algebra 1); Delaney Latarewicz, Andrew Peterson, Ian Freeman, Alec Duesing and Sylvia Knight (Calculator Team); Jonah Frosch (Geometry); Rishad Dharani and Payton Irwin (Algebra 2);
  • PEHS student journalist Lauren Thibault took third in state in Headline Writing. As well, PEHS student journalist Jenni Burke earned sixth place in Yearbook Theme Development.
  • PEHS junior Rylie Traversa was invited by PBS to compete in its Chicago music competition.  (She recently was in the LA competition). The Chicago winner will be decided on May 6, 2018.

She is also a vocal finalist moving onto the Boston final rounds with Classical Singer Magazine in the High School Classical and High School Musical Theatre categories. The final rounds are Memorial Day weekend in Boston.

  • The Ridge Elementary School Patriot Pride Club (created and led by fourth grade teacher Ann Smelser) received 1st Place at the State, Division and National levels at the Illinois State Conference of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
  • PNHS sophomore Elijah Brooks has been invited to participate in the Congress of Future Medical Leaders being held in Boston June 25-27, 2018. The Congress honors academically superior high school students intending to study medicine.
