MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT 202

Education Partners, hello.

Hope you have had a good week. Here is today’s District 202 news and information: 


The Board of Education now comprises:

  • President Greg Nichols
  • Vice President Kevin Kirberg
  • Secretary David Koch
  • Members
    • Heather Drake
    • Dr. Michael Robey
    • Robert Smith
    • Rod Westfall

  • The District 202 Board of Education will meet in regular session Monday, May 8, 2017 at Eichelberger Elementary School, 12450 S. Essington Road, Plainfield. The public session will start at 7:30 p.m.
  • District 202 will spray for weeds at all of our facilities over the coming weeks and in early June.
  • NEW INFORMATION – The District 202 summer Chinese Immersion classes are now open to fourth through ninth grade students, and the registration deadline is now May 25, 2017. Only 60 students will be accepted, so sign up now for this wonderful cultural learning opportunity!

  • PEHS High School senior Nabeeha Bakhrani placed 4th at the DECA International Career Development Conference in "Apparel and Accessories Marketing."
  • The Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League drafted PEHS senior Logan Ommen in the Phase II selection draft. Ommen will attend the Stars’ main camp in Nebraska from June 7-11, 2017.
  • PEHS sophomore Rylie Traversa has advanced to the national finals of Classical Singer Magazine's national singing contest. 
  • PEHS junior Mattie Levy has achieved her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting.
  • PSHS student athletes Sarah Lucchesi, Melissa Powers, Kelynn Brummel and Grace Michel will compete at the state badminton tournament next weekend at Eastern Illinois University as doubles teams (Lucchesi/Powers and Brummel/Michel).

This is the first time that a PSHS doubles team has qualified for state.
