MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT 202

Education Partners, hello.

Here is the “Independence Day Weekend” edition of District 202 news and information…

  • The Board of Education met in regular session on June 27, 2016. Here are the Board of Education Meeting Notes.
  • As we indicated earlier this spring, district administration, Board of Education members and attorneys have reviewed our policies in response to the United States Department of Education’s guidance received in May, regarding transgender students.

District 202’s current, established policies provide all students with equal educational opportunities and prohibit harassment or bullying based on a student’s gender identity.

We will continue to monitor the rapidly changing legal landscape to assess District policies and practices.

  • Important Reminders:
    • Stadium renovations are under way at Plainfield High School-Central Campus and Plainfield South High School through September 12, 2016. Therefore the associated outdoor tracks and outdoor stadium fields are closed to walkers and other stadium-related activities.

We have created a special web site page with both photos and videos of this project on the district web site. We will also continue to post information to District 202’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.

  • Catholic Charities will host its annual Back to School Fair from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at St. Clare Campus (the former Guardian Angels home), 1550 W. Plainfield Road, Joliet.
