Going into the Columbus Day weekend, here is this week’s District 202 news and information:

The “Village” features both a “family friendly” version appropriate for younger kids, and another for older students and adults.
Proceeds benefit the Foundation for Excellence, which supports all District 202 students, staff, family and community.

- The Board of Education will meet in regular session on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at John F. Kennedy Middle School, 12350 S. Essington Road, Plainfield. The public session will start at 7:30 p.m. ***Please note the special date because of the Columbus Day holiday.

KUDOS AND CONGRATULATIONS

- Plainfield High School – Central Campus students wrote over 240 letters to military veterans to thank them for their service, as part of a letter writing campaign through the Honor Flight program.
- Creekside Elementary School exceeded its “Fun Run” $10,000 fundraising goal, raising $10,927. In trade, teachers Heidi Van De Voort, Tony Yakes, Gen Gerleve-Nelson and Gail Epley courageously agreed to take (shaving cream) pies to the face. See the photos below.
