Finally…
Every year people ask why District 202 schools are open on Veterans Day. It is a good and fair question.
The answer is simple:
We’d rather our students be in school learning about and honoring our military veterans for their service, than sitting at home.
Therefore, most of our schools do something special – a ceremony, breakfast, visitors, readers, etc. – to help students understand the vital nature of service to our country.
With that in mind, please take time to talk to your students about the importance of our military (and police, fire, paramedics, etc.) to our community and country. And if you can, THANK A VET!
Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff and schools.
Have a good weekend!
