David McBeth high-fives a student at the Ina Brixey Center after reading “The Polar Express" on December 18, 2019. Bonnie McBeth read the classic to students at her namesake preschool until her passing in 2014. Her son and daughter-in-law have continued the tradition in her honor. This year, that included reading at the Ina Brixey Center, the new Bonnie McBeth satellite location.

census 2020, everyone counts!

The 2020 Census will be held next spring and it’s vitally important to our community that everyone be counted. The Census helps determine our legislative districts and federal funding.

Here is some basic information about the Census.

Need a few dollars to help pay for Christmas? The Census will hire thousands of people to help residents complete the survey next spring:

Kudos and Congratulations
  • Drauden Point Middle School 8th graders raised and donated $2,000 for Aunt Martha's Youth Service Center this year.
  • The ATL Youth Sports program (specifically the volleyball team) comprising District 202 students collected 838 pairs of gloves and hats as part of its "We play for a Cause Campaign.” The winter items will be donated to needy District 202-area families.

instagram image from instagram As part of tradition, the McBeth family visited the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center and the new Ina Brixey Center before break to read "The Polar Express" to students. Since the opening of the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center, Bonnie McBeth would visit the school to read her favorite book to students. Since her passing, her family has continued the tradition. #202proud

facebook image from facebook Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 is #202proud of Mrs. Minott's and Miss Boyle's first graders at Crystal Lawns Elementary School for donating 56 pairs for pajamas this holiday season. The students participated in Scholastic Book Clubs annual Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive. Scholastic Book Club matches the pajama donations with books. The Crystal Lawns donations will go to Guardian Angel Community Services in Joliet. #HappyHolidays
