MESSAGE FROM DISTRICT 202
Hello Education Partners,
Hope you have had a good week. Here is today’s District 202 news and information:

|
Community members may continue to send comments through the online email link. As well, community members can also comment during the “Citizen Comments” portion of the regular Board of Education meeting.
|
|
|
|
- The District 202 Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the District 202 Administrative Center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield. The public portion of the meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s Great Read-related events include an evening of stories about Dr. King’s childhood (February 1st); the Great Read Art Contest for artist of all ages; and a performance of Civil Rights-era music (February 28th.)
- District 202 will offer limited full-day kindergarten again next year. A random, computerized lottery will be held in February. More information will be coming next week.

- Plainfield High School – Central Campus junior Lexi Moisan won First Place for her pastel, “Moo Moo”, and Plainfield East High School sophomore Oleg Bezuglov won third place for his colored pencil selection, “The White Side of the Savage” in the recent Plainfield Art League “Best of the Best” juried exhibit.
- Two hundred and forty-five Indian Trail Middle School students and 65 family members packed over 642 boxes (each holding 36 meals) for the Feed My Starving Children organization earlier this month. As well, the students raised and donated $400.25 in spare change and bills.
