Another very busy week here! Hope you have had a good week. Here is today’s District 202 news and information:

The online application for the 2018 limited full-day kindergarten is now available and will remain open until 5 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018.
|
|
|
|
- The 2018 Great Read community literacy program is officially underway! This year we honor the life the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Please check out the Great Read website for a long list of related events at all our nine partner libraries.
This year’s program also includes the Great Read Art Contest for artist of all ages.
The 2018 Great Read will close with a performance of Civil Rights-era music at 6 p.m. February 28th.
- The Jon Balke Student Art Gallery is proud to feature works this month from Freedom, Eagle Pointe, Walker’s Grove and Grand Prairie elementary schools, Timber Ridge Middle School and Plainfield North High School. Check out our students’ artistry at the District 202 Administrative Center.

- The PNHS and PSHS cheerleading teams are competing at state this weekend.
- “Life, Assisted”, a short story by Aux Sable Middle School Reading Specialist Jennifer Moore was recently published on the “Every Day Fiction” website, which is associated with the “Every Day Fiction” magazine.
- Eichelberger Elementary School staff donated $865 to the American Heart Association.
- PHSCC senior Karl Burns took 8th place at the recent state boys bowling tournament, qualifying him as an “All State” bowler.
- PEHS junior Riley Traversa is competing in the “Celebration of Music -- Talent Search” television show on PBS.
- John F. Kennedy Middle School raised another $22,251.93 for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through its annual St. Jude Math-a-Thon. JFK has donated $375,968.51 to St. Jude since the school opened in 2007, making it one of the top givers nationwide.
- PEHS senior Scott Springer recently won the Mossy Oak Fishing Bassmaster High School Central Open, held in Many, Louisiana.
