This Week's Highlights



  • The Board set a special meeting for 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 to discuss possible options for creating adequate space to provide full-day kindergarten for all eligible students. The meeting is open to the community and public comment will be taken.
  • The CAPE organization will host a Vendor and Craft Fair on April 13, 2019. Proceeds will benefit the CAPE scholarship.

Kudos and Congratulations
  • PSHS senior Emma Jones earned two National Gold Awards from Scholastic Art and Writing competition.
  • District 202 Special Olympians Erica Heller (PSHS) and Kyle Banas and Kaleena Derrick (both PEHS) each won 5th place in the Individual Skills competition at the Special Olympics State basketball tournament.
  • PEHS sophomore Dominique Browder won a Silver medal in the Engineering category, and PEHS freshman Anylah Snow earned Honorable Mention in the Computer Science category at the DuPage County Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO).

ACT-SO, the principle youth initiative of the NAACP, is designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students.

  • More than 90 District 202 staff, parents and community members won 2019 CAPE awards at this year’s ceremony held this past week.

facebook Plainfield North High School senior Cora Weibye and helpers are teaching American Sign Language to second graders at Lincoln Elementary School.

Weibye is working in her mom Jennifer's second-grade class with the ASL Club.

The club is open to any second grader and the group has been active since January. #202proud
