|
A “Ceremony of Remembrance” will be held next Friday, August 28th to mark the 25th anniversary of the 1990 Plainfield tornado.
- A traditional ceremony will be held from 3-4 p.m. at the Memorial site on Ft. Beggs Drive across from Plainfield High School – Central Campus (24120 W. Ft. Beggs Drive.)
- Then, a panel discussion featuring meteorologists Paul Sirvatka (College of DuPage), Steve Baskerville (WBBM) and Tom Skilling (WGN) will be held from 4:45-6 p.m. in the PHSCC auditorium. Both events are open to the community.
PLEASE NOTE: Ft. Beggs Drive will be closed at 2:30 p.m. from Route 59 to PHSCC. Police will be directing traffic in the area.

- Here are the Board of Education meeting notes from the August 17, 2015 board meeting.
- At that meeting, the Board approved putting the proposed 2015-16 budget on public display for 30 days as required by law. This information is posted on the front page of the district 202 web site and is also available for review at the District Administrative Center. The Board will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. September 28, 2015 and then vote on proposed budget later that evening.
- The Plainfield Library invites 6-12 year olds enter the Plainfield Harvest Kidz Miler T-shirt Contest. Use this form to draw a picture related to running, exercising or just having fun. The winning design will be featured at this year's race. The winner will also get a $30 ITunes gift card.

KUDOS AND CONGRATULATIONS

- PNHS senior Jay Blake will ride in the inaugural Ride Across Wisconsin (RAW) on Saturday, August 29, 2015 as a member of Team Fox. The event will benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) which funds research to find better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
- PNHS graduate Karlie Traversa will appear as soprano soloist with the Blue Lake Festival Orchestra this Saturday, August 22, 2015, performing the work of composer Ludolf Arens. The performance will be broadcast in the US and internationally via Public Radio FM 90.3/88.9
