Here is this week’s Labor Day Weekend helping of District 202 news and information:

|
- District 202 is proud to support the Hunger Action Month food drive from August 22-September 23, 2016. Donations can be made at all of our schools, and the district administrative center to benefit the Plainfield Interfaith and St. John Lutheran Church food pantries.
|
|
|
|
- Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lane Abrell will host his first Community Coffee with the Superintendent for this school year, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10th at the district administrative center.
- Work is very nearly done on the artificial turf installation at Plainfield High School – Central Campus and Plainfield South High School. Check out the most current pictures and videos.

- Chicago Magazine recently ranked Freedom Elementary School as the fourth-best public school in Will County.
- 2001 Plainfield High School graduate Jessica (Saraga) Walsh and her husband Brendan Walsh have filmed and produced a documentary, Making Waves, Battle for the Great Lakes, about invasive species in the Great Lakes.
The program is scheduled to air on WTTW Channel 11 in two parts at 5 p.m. Sunday, September 11 and 18, 2016.
