1st ANNUAL FRIENDSHIP WALK
Modeled after the Best Buddies Walk, this event is all about Inclusion in Action: bringing together students, families, and staff to celebrate belonging, connection, and the beautiful diversity within our school.
On Saturday, May 2nd from 10:00AM–1:00PM, families will come together at DPMS to:
Walk together as a community
Participate in fun activities (bracelets, games, inflatables, music & more!)
Celebrate friendships - both old and new
Enjoy a joyful, welcoming space where EVERYONE belongs
Why this means so much to us
This event was created with a bigger purpose in mind:
To reach more of our own students and staff
To involve more families in meaningful ways
To strengthen the connections that make DP so special
To celebrate and uplift our neurodivergent students
It’s a reminder that while our students may have different strengths and needs, we have far more in common than we do apart. This is about creating a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
Let’s make it a COMMUNITY event!
We truly want this to feel like a family event, and we would LOVE for you to be a part of it:
Walking alongside our students and families
Volunteering to help run activities (I’ll be attaching a sign-up form!)
Spreading the word and helping us build excitement
See flyers for event details, registration, and t-shirt sales. REGISTRATION AND T-SHIRTS

MEALS AT DPMS
Did you know that all students at Drauden Point have the opportunity to get FREE breakfast and lunch? No sign up necessary. We have carts around the building for grab and go breakfast. Multiple lunch options are available to students in the cafeteria during grade level lunches. Please note: We also have al la carte options at a cost.
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
Motorized Bikes and Scooters - We are seeing an uptick in students riding bicycles and motorized bikes/scooters on school grounds. At times, the students on their bicycle or motorized bike/scooter are coming very close hitting individuals who are walking to school or standing outside of the building. We have also observed students riding erratically in the open spaces and nearby fields. Please speak with your students to remind them that once they are on school property, they should get off of their bicycle or motorized bike/scooter and walk it to the bike rack. Once on school grounds, students should NOT be riding on the sidewalks nor the nearby grass or fields. Our goal as always is to help everyone remain as safe as possible while on school grounds.
Car line - As fall and winter settle in the change of inclement weather increases. Please make sure we are following our carline guidelines to ensure a safe and timely arrival and dismissal.
