We made it to the second semester. Only two more quarters, and your 8th grader will be in high school!
Later this week, we will be hosting our January Wildcat PRIDE meetings where we will be providing your 8th graders with important dates and events as well as reminders about the requirements to be eligible for the 8th grade end of the year events.
Most importantly, 8th grade Promotion will be held on Tuesday, May 19th at Plainfield Central High School starting at 5:00pm. Please note that on your calendar.
Additionally, please make sure you are reading the correct dates for your students’ future high school:
PLAINFIELD CENTRAL:
Monday, January 12th - Elective Presentation: 1:00-2:00pm
PCHS department chairs will visit ITMS during the school day to present information regarding high school elective choices.
Wednesday, January 14th – High School 101 at Plainfield Central: 6:30-8:00pm
8th grade students and parents can learn more about courses and planning for high school.
Saturday, January 24th – Course Selection Day at Plainfield Central: 8:00am-1:00pm
Parents and students will meet with a counselor to select high school classes for the 2026-2027 school year.
Wednesday, January 28th – Course Selection Make-Up Day at Plainfield Central: 5:00-8:00pm.
Any student who did not attend on Saturday January 24th can attend this evening to select courses for high school.
Tuesday, April 21st – Step Up Day at Plainfield Central: 9:30-11:30am
Students will travel to Plainfield Central during the school day for Step Up Day Activities.
PLAINFIELD EAST:
Wednesday, January 14th – Middle School Elective Visits: 8:00am
PEHS department chairs will visit ITMS during the school day to present information regarding high school elective choices.
Wednesday, January 21st – Exploration Night at Plainfield East: 7:00pm
Presentation will start in the auditorium then parents and students will proceed to the field house to visit with academics, clubs, athletics, and activities representatives.
Friday, January 30th – Counselors visit Indian Trail: 8:00-10:00am
Counselors from Plainfield East visit during the school day to work with students to select courses for freshman year.
Tuesday, April 21st – Step Up Day at Plainfield East: 9:30-11:30am
Students will travel to Plainfield East during the school day for Step Up Day Activities.
Students were also informed about the requirements to be eligible for the 8th Grade End-of-the-Year Field Trips and Promotion. PLEASE REVIEW THIS LETTER so you are aware of the requirements students must meet to participate in these special events.
We would encourage you to have a conversation with your student to review these expectations. Throughout the remainder of the year, we will be checking in on students’ grades and progress and communicating with parents/guardians. We want to see all of our 8th graders participate in these memory making occasions.
