Student Life

Message from the Principal
Dear East Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself back to the Plainfield East Community. My name is Mr. Kai Freeman and I am the new Principal. It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of gratitude that I communicate to our families my new role. I am honored to rejoin a school community known for its commitment to achieve in all areas.
Throughout my career in education, I have promised myself to stay driven by a simple but powerful belief that growth begins with a positive foundation. Building connections while developing respectful and supportive relationships has to be at the forefront. Every student deserves a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment where they can thrive and discover their full potential. I bring 20 years of experience as a Teacher, Dean, Assistant Principal at the High School level and a Middle School Principal. I am excited to begin this new chapter and continue to build off what has been in place.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, my focus will be on maintaining a safe and positive environment. Building strong relationships, supporting outstanding teaching and learning, and ensuring that every student feels seen, heard, and valued. I am committed to open communication, collaborative leadership, and a school culture that reflects high expectations, inclusivity, and mutual respect.
In the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting with students, families, staff, and community members to learn more about what makes Plainfield East so special. I am especially eager to hear your hopes, ideas, and aspirations for our school.
Thank you for the warm welcome I have already received. I am excited to work alongside each of you to make this school year one of growth, achievement, and pride for our entire community. GO BENGALS!!!
Mr. Kai Freeman
