District 202’s four high school auditoriums will tackle love, a Christmas classic, and fairy tales in November as students take the stage for fall plays.

Here is this year’s lineup:

Adapted for the stage by James W. Rodgers, based on the story “The Greatest Gift” by Philip Van Doren Stern and the subsequent 1946 film by Frank Capra, this production captures the timeless story of George Bailey, a man who believes his life has amounted to nothing until an angel shows him what the world would be like without him. A moving tale of community, sacrifice, and the impact one person has on so many lives, this play is a powerful reminder that “no man is a failure who has friends.”

When the aging king of a Magical Kingdom (England) decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character), terrible tragedy ensues - terrible, hilarious tragedy.

Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win or you die.

Photo opportunities will be available before and after the show, as well as during intermission.
