Three District 202 teachers recently presented at the Illinois New Teacher Collaborative Leadership and Mentoring Conference, held on June 17 and 18, at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Lisa Packley, teacher at Eagle Point Elementary School, presented "Empower Teachers and Students to LEAD! Reengaging with Reciprocal Teaching and Learning," while Megan Kobliska, Project SEARCH Coordinator, and Amanda Menski, special education teacher at Plainfield East High School, presented "Mentoring Special Education in a Unit District."
All three attended the conference for the first time last year, and this year they were chosen to present at the conference.
The INTC is a state-level organization that guides school districts on research-embedded, standards-aligned, effective induction programs.
The conference offers teachers the opportunity to learn from other practitioners across the state and to establish networks that support their professional development.
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Paula Sereleas and a team of building mentors, coaches, and administrators attended the conference to support further strengthening the District 202 new teacher induction program.
