Three Plainfield High School-Central Campus senior student-athletes recently earned state and national honors for boys’ soccer and girls' flag football in November.
Marshall DeGraff is one of four soccer goalkeepers nationwide to be selected to play in the High School All-American Game on Saturday, December 13, in Charleston, South Carolina.
He was also awarded the 2025 Dude Wipes Clean Sheet Award last month. The award is given to the best high school male and female goalkeeper in the area.
He was one of two in the Chicagoland area honored with the award. A clean sheet in soccer refers to a shutout game for the goalie.
“Marshall is certainly in the discussion for the best male athlete that we’ve ever had at Plainfield High School-Central Campus,” said Pat Hanley, PHSCC Athletic Director.
“He has been an incredible goalie for our soccer team and a great representative of our school on and off the playing field.”
Shania Davison was named to the Chicago Bears All-State Team, which recognizes the top 56 girls flag football players across the state.
Davison and the PHSCC flag football team competed their way to the Illinois High School Association sectional round and had a 13-9 winning record in their first year of competition.
“Shania was a significant part of our girls' flag football success in their inaugural season,” Hanley said.
“Her incredible hard work, selflessness, and commitment to the team set the example that led to a trip to the Sectional Championship.”
Jorge Mireles was named to the IHSA Boys Soccer Coaches Association All-State Team.
Mireles was the senior team captain and an anchor on the defense, Hanley said.
“With all his soccer talents, leadership, and soccer IQ, Jorge was able to help lead the team to a second consecutive conference championship and 16 wins on the season,” he said.
