Piatek started her career as a teacher in Oswego and was a high school dean and assistant principal at Batavia High School before taking her current role at Rotolo in 2022.

She has a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and multiple educational certifications in different areas.

In her current principal role, Piatek created outreach programs to connect students and parents to the school.

She collaborated with teachers to establish a Social Emotional Learning curriculum, led school safety initiatives, and contributed to district curriculum committees.

Piatek enjoys working with curriculum, she said.

“As a principal, I have enjoyed shaping our curriculum and instructional strategies in the building and feel that being able to do that on a larger scale will be very rewarding,” she said.

Piatek is also looking forward to working with District 202 community and industry partners to build on the district’s strong career pathways curriculum foundation.

“Preparing students for post-secondary opportunities - whether that is college, the workforce, or military service - is some of the most important work we can do,” she said.

Dr. Paula Sereleas, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, said Piatek will bring student-focused leadership to the district role.

“Her experience will allow her to lead in areas of achievement, career and college readiness, and will further strengthen the alignment between our high school and middle school initiatives,” she said.
