Marshall DeGraff, a 2026 graduate of Plainfield High School-Central Campus, is the 2025-2026 Gatorade Illinois Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
The goalkeeper led the Wildcats boys' soccer team to a 17-7-1 record and the regional final in the 2025-2026 season.
He is a two-time conference MVP and a 2025 United Soccer Coaches All-American player.
The Gatorade Player of the Year is the top honor in high school sports, celebrating the nation’s best high school athletes for their excellence in sport, academics, and community.
DeGraff is attending Bowling Green University on a scholarship.
Off the soccer field, DeGraff volunteers with TOPSoccer, an organization that pairs athletes with disabilities with players to share their love and joy of the game. He also volunteers with Feed My Starving Children and the Northern Illinois Food Bank pantry.
Kevin Fitzgerald, PHS-CC boys’ soccer coach, said this is the second year DeGraff was nominated.
“He is a great all-around kid and very deserving of this award,” Fitzgerald said.
“DeGraff’s soccer goalkeeping abilities are just abnormal; he’s an incredible athlete and naturally gifted.”
