District 202 has released the third-party draft results of its Student Attendance Boundary Study, a proactive planning initiative identified as a top priority by the community, district administration, and Board of Education. This effort aligns with the strategic planning goals approved by the Board in December 2022.

Community members are encouraged to review the draft study and provide feedback.

Why the Study Matters

The draft Student Attendance Boundary Study addresses several key challenges:

  • Enrollment imbalances: Some schools are over capacity, while others have available space.

  • Community growth: New housing developments are shifting student populations.

  • Facility alignment: Ensuring boundaries align with aging facilities and planned construction.

  • Transportation efficiency: Minimizing travel times, optimizing bus routes, enhancing safety, and reducing costs.

District 202 values community input and encourages families and residents to review the draft findings and share their thoughts to help shape the final recommendations.

The Board of Education is scheduled to vote on the new student attendance boundaries on December 17, 2025. The changes, if approved, will begin at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
